About the Job
The Medical Assistant provides essential support and administrative services to the office, the doctors, and the patients in a fast-paced doctor’s office. This person will be involved in a wide spectrum of tasks focused around assisting the Physician in all minor in office procedures. 

Medical Assistant Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):  
  • Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
  • Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR.
  • Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services (nail care, callus removal, diabetic shoe fitting).
  • Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
  • Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed.
  • Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance.

Medical Assistant Required Skills and Experience:  
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience.
  • CMA or RMA certification preferred.
  • Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes (preferred).
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment.
  • Detail-oriented, professional, and patient-focused.
  • Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
